All the cheerful stripes on this layout are broken up with a thin diamond shape and circle and layered with clusters of color coordinated embellishments. I love the retro feel of the new “Summer Vibes” collection. I spotted this idea on the Echo Park Instagram page.
Summer is officially here so let’s get out and maybe get away and enjoy the sunshine, go on a road trip, visit the pool, lay about in the sun (with sunscreen of course) and enjoy these (not so) lazy days of summer! To help inspire you to scrap all these fun summertime photos I’ve gathered together a big bunch of Summer themed layouts for you to check out.
Beneath each photo you’ll see a link, click it for more details like products used, tips and techniques.
This summer adventure layout has a beautiful stenciled yellow background, layers of tags with twine behind the photos and a colorful title. Claire used products in the new kit from My Creative Scrapbook for this page.
This awesome summer seagulls layout has so much depth and texture from thread, stenciling, sewing, pom pom trim, a tassel, chipboard and wooden embellishments. Fly on over and take a closer look at the Simple Stories blog.
This darling design is swimming with adorable sea creatures using coordinating pattern paper and chipboard shapes. I love how Conny added a beachy border along the bottom and a tall vertical border of pattern papers behind the photo, it gives the design lots of movement for the eye to follow! This trip to the aquarium layout has a lovely large die cut wave shaped shaker element as the focal point. And don’t you just love the puny “gill squad” title!? Phil also added lots of die cut coral and branches poking out all around as well. Swim over for more info on the Paige Taylor Evans blog.
I adore the teal green and yellow color combo on this beachy layout from Violeta! She create a backwards L shape for her photos and embellishments, adding fun little frames and enamel dots and letters for the title. Learn more at the Pinkfresh Studio blog.
These fun tropical design are actually done on envelopes and you can use them alone or add them to scrapbook layouts for an interesting interactive place to tuck in some extra photos or journaling. Maria is sharing her process video on the Graphic 45 blog.
This summery layout features a large wreath made with all different summer themed stickers. Some paint splatters and a scattering of sentiments adds nice extra details too. I came across this idea on Kristin Rizzon’s gallery at Scrapbook.com.
Jackie kept most of the action on this Summer Fun page on the left with a wide border of layers of pattern papers, wooden embellishments, buttons and more with the large photo and title jutting out into the center of the design. Take a closer look on the Scrap the Boys blog.
I think teal green is going to be a trendy color this summer, I’m seeing it used a lot, like on this layout form Sheena. She used a paper with printed waves and added stitching and sequins along the lines for a very dynamic design down one side. In the middle are photos, journaling and lots of beachy embellishments. Watch her process video over on the Hey, Little Magpie blog.
Wow, check out this stunning mixed media layout from Marie! She used moss, cheesecloth, craft stones, an acrylic title and a die cut and inked geotag background for a terrific dimensional design. I spotted her idea on the peartreecutfiles Instagram page.
And lastly this beachy layout looks to have loads of 3D accents but really doesn’t becuase it’s digital. If you’re short on time but want this look then digital scrapbooking is a quick and easy way to achieve a faux mixed media design. Images from The Lilypad were used by Ellen T. on this page she shared at her gallery at Scrapbook.com.
I hope you are able to get out and have some fun this summer and have been inspired to create some amazing layouts!
